Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with 12 other children. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Before she learned to read or write Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. Once she had her first guitar at the age 8, she started to perform at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. That following year, she made her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. While she was a local star while in high school, her ambitions were greater. The day she graduated high school, it was 1964. Her first charting records with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his syndicated television program at around the exact as the time. Parton joined RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. However, it wasn't until 1974 when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's program as the popularity of her own solo records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it debuted at Number. 1 for the first time in 1974.
