Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born on the 22nd of March, 1976) is an American actress. The recipient of various accolades like an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, she is regularly ranked as one of the highest-paid actors in the world. Time magazine and Forbes both listed her as one of the 100 most influential people around the world in both the years of 2015 and 2006, respectively. Forbes named her the world ?Ts most successful actor in 2021. Witherspoon is estimated to have a net worth $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she appeared as an actress who played a supporting role in Cruel Intentions and in the role of Tracy Flick in Election. Elle Woods, a comedy comedy (2001), as well as its sequel in 2003 gained her wider recognition. She also starred in Sweet Home Alabama (2002) which was a romantic comedy. In 2005 she won notoriety and the Academy Award for Best Actress in the role of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a downturn in her career during which her only box office success was Water for Elephants (2011). Witherspoon returned to the screen in the form of a producer and played in Wild (2014). She got a second Academy Awards nomination for Best Actress. She has since worked primarily in the world of television, directing and starring in a variety of female-led literary adaptations for the banner of her company Hello Sunshine. These include Big Little Lies (2017-2018), The Morning Show (2019-20), as well as Little Fires Everywhere (2020), all HBO drama series. She was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Limited Series for the series' first season.
